Hello everyone!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Youth and Family! I will do my best to fill the giant shoes left by Erin & Jim! I am really grateful to Jim & Becky Ingling and all of their hard work during the Interim time and I look forward to bringing back some traditional Youth Events from when I was a “young” and to infuse the Youth program with new ideas!

We have quite a few events coming up!

November 30

Youth Hangout Night (High School, College students, and Recent College Grads)
6:00 PM- ???
Video Games, Pizza, Games, Hangout fun!

Also, on Nov 30, I have to confirm the number of High School students attending the LYO (Lutheran Youth Organization) retreat at Camp Kern. The LYO retreat will be the weekend of January 25

Youth Cookie Decorating Christmas Party (All ages)
10:00 AM-Noon
A quick Christmas play rehearsal and then…fun!
Come decorate some delicious cookies, drink some warm cocoa and watch a classic Christmas movie
Wear your favorite Christmas outfit and if we have time left, we’ll play some games!!

Minutes of the First Lutheran Church Congregational Council Meeting February 14, 2012

Absent: Erin Taylor, Amy Yalaz, Adele Siegel, Tracy Blevins, Pat Hogan, Carole McCoy, Brad Maiolo

Secretary Report: Ingling moved to accept the January 2012 Secretary’s Report …..Motion carried
Treasurer’s Report: Vosskuehler moved to accept the July 2011 Treasurer’s Report …..Motion carried
Carole on vacation, report looks good, no recommendations
Corresponding Secretary’s Report: Pastor- wrote Thank Yous to Samuelsson and Wittenberg Choir
Pastor’s Report: Bryant-Case moved to accept the Pastor’s report…Motion carried
Website & Facebook- Pastor has been figuring it out and has become inspired to do more online things!
Wittenberg Choir- amazing, we would like to keep that relationship alive

Unified Lutheran Church Youth Calendar? Schedule a shared event ahead of time.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper coming up- February 21

Committee Reports
Outreach- Carnation Grams were very successful, 490.00 made in profit. Look for more information on Relay for Life in April.
Worship- Looking at the Christmas Eve service for updates or changes that can be made, have any suggestions? Speak to any Worship Committee member (Marian Neuharth, Gail Smith, Shirley Tennant, Chuck & Ann Vosskuehler & Pastor)
Service- Basement garage sale well underway, Eagle & Dove will be moving their things “soon”.

Custodial Subs- The council recommends to the Personnel Committee that they consider Richard Armatrout as a substitute custodian when Colleen is out.

Secretary Report: Ingling moved to accept the December 2011 Secretary’s Report …..Motion carried

Treasurer’s Report: B.Maiolo moved to accept the July 2011 Treasurer’s Report …..Motion carried

All Items 1-7 –

Item 1- Merge inactive funds (Servicemen phone cards etc)

Item 2- Benevolence Endowment move to Baker Krizner/Interest be designated for Southern Ohio Synod

Item 3- $400 to Southern Ohio Synod for Erin Taylor seminary application

Item 4- We had a surplus of 1,092.58 carried over to 2012 (Would have had more, but paid staff stipends)

Item 5- Noisy Offering to continue and will continue to go towards Debt Reduction (eventually will go towards Music)

Item 6- Kroger Cards, last year we accrued 1,092.58 (Temple Talk/Newsletter Article)

Item 7- Committees stayed within budgets!

Ingling moved to accept all Items…carried

Mission Trip to Benton Harbor, MI for Youth this summer the week of July 1st

Committee Reports

Service- Garage Sale, at the end of next week Pastor will call David Speas to find out what Eagle & Dove is doing and find out what will happen with their supplies. If we retain the equipment, it will be moved for the Garage Sale.

Motion to accept the offer from Zahlea/Vasel to have a Rummage/Garage Sale, pending confirmation from Pastor about Eagle & Dove future….carried  (Council would like to know where will funds go)

Outreach- is bringing back the Relay for Life team and would like to do a fundraiser, See Bulletin Board for more details

Bryant-Case moved to allow the Outreach Relay for Life team to sell Carnation Grams at $2.00 a piece..carried

Old Business:

Congregational Meeting…Ingling/Maiolo moved to accept the minutes from the Congregational Meeting…carried

New Business:

Fellowship Hour…Outreach to circulate a schedule

Accept a gift…Vivian Carter has offered to pay for Gillams to trim the deciduous bushes in March …Ingling moves to accept..carried,  Council accepts with thanks

Open Session: Need tickets to Norman Rockwell thing on Thursday??? Inglings have tickets they can’t use!!!
